Lori Loughlin Is ‘Nervous’ After She Lost Bid to Dismiss College Admissions Charges

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton rejected actress Lori Loughlin’s request to dismiss charges in the now infamous college admissions case. The scandal, which first hit headlines last March, has been an ongoing story for more than a year now, and it doesn’t seem as if it’s going to end soon.

In April, attorneys for the parents who are accused of bribing college admissions officials filed a collection of motions to dismiss the charges against them. Now that Gorton has dismissed the motion from Loughlin and 13 others, the Full House actress is reportedly “nervous” about what’s to come.

A source told Entertainment Tonight: “The ruling made Lori nervous” and added that “Lori is convinced she did nothing wrong and wasn’t expecting the judge to side against her. Despite her setback, she has no plans to back down from her non-guilty plea. She strongly believes that [bribery scam ring-leader Rick] Singer misrepresented himself and, because she thought he’d acted on behalf of the school, she feels she is innocent.” The source said that Loughlin tries not to let her daughters, Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade, see how scared she is, but that she “never in her life thought that she would ever be in this position, and it’s almost like a bad dream she can’t wake up from. Lori is determined to prove her innocence and she won’t back down.”

The mother of two seems to be considering the worst-case scenario that she and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, could find themselves in at the end of this. She has reportedly hired someone to help prep her for life in prison.

“The advisor is there to help her learn the ropes,” a source told People in early January. “That’s not to be construed that she thinks she’s going to lose her case. Lori is a planner, and she is doing what she needs to do for all contingencies.”
