Jennifer Lopez’s decision to skip the Academy Awards is understandable—she was snubbed, after all, when she didn’t receive a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in Hustlers. But she didn’t skip all the Oscar night festivities. The singer posted a shot of herself on her Instagram grid and IG story, all glammed up for an after party. She wasn’t photographed at the Vanity Fair bash, but there were many parties that night in Los Angeles, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s highly exclusive one.
“Ready for an Oscars bash,” Lopez captioned her glam shot, keeping the actual party she went to secret for now.
Lopez was in Los Angeles on Saturday night for the Film Independent Spirit Awards. She had a nomination there for Hustlers and thanked the organizers for the recognition on her Instagram. “Thank you Film Independent Spirit Awards for my Best Supporting Actress nod for my role in @hustlersmovie,” she wrote over a Getty photo of herself on the red carpet.
She wore a sequined look to that too. Her top was silver, and her skirt was purple for a fun contrast:
Lopez’s weekend in LA comes after she performed at the Super Bowl in Miami last weekend. She sang with her daughter Emme and co-headliner Shakira on stage. After the performance, J.Lo shared an intimate behind the scenes video of her and Emme that night on her Instagram.
“These moments were captured just minutes before we hit the stage last night,” Lopez wrote. “All I want my girls, the little girls on stage with me and all over the world to know is how to use their voices and be proud of everything they are. We are proud to recognize that all of us together are what makes this beautiful country truly great.”
