Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got engaged in March of 2019 after two years of dating. The singer and the former Yankees star are one elegant power couple who always manage to pull off the best looks in the room. They show affection for each other via Instagram posts like these sappy videos from Valentine’s Day, and Rodriguez has proven himself to be Lopez’s number-one fan and supporter.
While talking with Oprah Winfrey on the media mogul’s 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus Tour in Los Angeles on Saturday night, Lopez shared some details about her personal wedding timeline, per People.
” I said, ‘If we’re going to be together for the rest of our lives, what is the rush?,’ she said. “If that’s what we’re really going to do, if we’re really going to be partners, if we’re really going to try to build something together that we both never had or never felt like we had, which is a family with a husband and a wife, and a mother and father, and we embrace all our children. We show them it’s something that we didn’t have.”
The actress and singer told Winfrey that she didn’t always have a “what’s the rush?” attitude about her impending nuptials to Rodriguez.
“It’s so funny because when we first got engaged, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re going to get married in a couple of months,'” she told Winfrey. “Like your old thinking comes right back, like all that hopeless romantic that made me get married three times.”
Lopez was married to actor Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, actor Chris Judd from 2001 to 2003, and, singer Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. She shares two children, 12-year-old twins, Emme and Maximillian (Max) Muñiz, with Anthony.
She said that Rodriguez, who was married to Cynthia Scurtis from 2002 to 2008, has been supportive of their lax timeline for a wedding.
“He was like, ‘Whatever you want to do, like we can talk about it,'” Lopez said on Saturday. With this huge emerald-cut engagement ring on her finger, she isn’t likely going to forget she’s engaged any time soon, anyway.
