Jane Fonda, Laura Dern, and Tiffany Haddish Celebrate International Women’s Day

“I would love for a minute, for an hour, for five years, for a decade to have the chance to feel what it would be like to live in a matriarchal structure,” Cate Blanchett states in the third annual Pomellato for Women video. “Everything would be different,” agrees Jane Fonda.

Blanchett and Fonda are just two of the high-profile women uniting to promote inclusivity, environmentalism, equality, and, yes, the power of female leadership in Pomellato’s ode to International Women’s Day. The Pomellato for Women initiative first began in 2017 to celebrate the jewelry brand’s 50th anniversary, promote female empowerment, and highlight the company’s 74% female workforce.

In a statement about the call to action, Pomellato Group CEO Sabina Belli said:

“In today’s tumultuous political climate, we have a responsibility to do what we can. As head of a luxury brand company designed for women, of course Pomellato will use its forum to call for change and promote inclusivity. We stand in defiance to gender inequality, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, to any fear of ‘the other.’ We raise our voices loud and our spirits high. We are hopeful for a healthier, more unified, more inclusive future. Pomellato For Women, in the spirit of International Women’s Day, celebrates the achievements of womenkind in its proud pursuit for a better tomorrow.”

People from diverse backgrounds, including Fonda (returning for the third year) and Blanchett as the 2020 Pomellato for Women Godmother, joined forces for the video. This includes Belli, Tiffany Haddish, Laura Dern, Isabelle Huppert, writer and activist Sinéad Burke, LGBTQ+ activist Max Emerson, French founder of the Maison des Femmes and sexual violence activist Dr. Ghada Hatem, filmmaker David Cronenberg, actress Huang Xiang Yi, actress Alba Rohrwacher, and model Krow Kian.

A full version of the video will be available on the brand’s site on March 7.
