Eight-year-old Blue Ivy Carter hasn’t decided whether she wants to be the next Beyoncé yet. But she’s still flexing her performer muscle anyway in her mother Beyoncé’s visual album film Black Is King, out tonight on Disney+ at 3 AM ET/12 AM PT.
Beyoncé shared a new trailer for the project on her social media, and a glimpse of Blue dressed as a debutante and smiling at the camera can be seen in the clip. So it’s confirmed: Blue is in. This isn’t her first time appearing in a Beyoncé project, but now that she’s a little older (and a BET Award winner plus Billboard-charting artist), it may be her most involved role yet. Time will tell how much Blue does, especially because Beyoncé, who is a pro at keeping her projects secret until she’s ready to share them, won’t say anything early.

Blue’s Black Is King appearance comes one day after Naomi Campbell shared rare insight about what the eight-year-old is like during her appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live. Campbell was asked whether she has met Blue. “Yes, I have,” Campbell said. “She is a very, very lovely girl. She is really smart and mature, very intelligent. “

It also comes the same morning Beyoncé spoke about what she hopes viewers take away from Black Is King in a pre-recorded message aired on Good Morning America.
“Black Is King is finally here,” Bey started. “Now, I’m so excited you guys get to watch it tonight on Disney+. It’s been a year in the making. I worked with a diverse group of very gifted directors and actors and creatives from all over the world to reimagine the story of The Lion King. The narrative unfolds through music videos, fashion, dance, beautiful natural settings and raw new talent. But it all started in my backyard. So from my house to Johannesburg to Ghana to London to Belgium to the Grand Canyons, it was truly a journey to bring this film to life. And my hope for this film is that it shifts the global perception of the word Black which has always meant inspiration, and love and strength and beauty to me. But Black Is King means Black is regal and rich in history, in purpose and in linage I hope y’all love it, I hope you enjoy and I hope y’all see it tonight.”
