For graduating seniors feeling blue about losing an in-person ceremony, allow the healing powers of Barack and Michelle Obama to lift you back up. The former President and First Lady will deliver the commencement address during YouTube Originals’ Dear Class of 2020 virtual ceremony on June 7.
As previously announced, the pair will each deliver their own remarks during the multi-hour special, before sharing a joint message. Michelle’s Higher Reach Initiative will also kick off the event with a full hour of content. But they aren’t the only A-listers sharing well wishes with the class of 2020. Others set to appear include BTS, Lady Gaga, Zendaya, and Kerry Washington, among others. Ahead, how to stream the starry event on Saturday, June 6.

Which other celebrities are in the lineup?
YouTube is partnering with Higher Reach, Born This Way Foundation, the Malala Fund, TODAY, and Ideas United to honor graduates during the festival-style event. One way they’re celebrating the class of 2020 is by inviting a list of other celebrities to join the event. Special guests will include Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Zendaya, Chloe x Halle, Kerry Washington, Alicia Keys, and Kelly Rowland. BTS has been announced as a performer for the virtual event’s grad night after-party.
Others making appearances include former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates; Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google; former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice; Malala Yousafzai; and YouTubers Jackie Aina, AsapSCIENCE, Dude Perfect, Mr. Kate, and The Try Guys, per Variety.
Are the Obamas’ a part of any other virtual graduation events?
As it turns out, Barack and Michelle will be spending a lot of their time in isolation writing commencement addresses. On May 5, Barack tweeted his agenda of graduation appearances:

I’ve always loved joining commencements––the culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice. Even if we can’t get together in person this year, Michelle and I are excited to celebrate the nationwide Class of 2020 and recognize this milestone with you and your loved ones. pic.twitter.com/ngR2ykx3A2

He gave remarks during the May 16 primetime special Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020. That event was broadcast across all four major networks as well as several streaming partners. It featured guest appearances from the likes of LeBron James, the Jonas Brothers, and Megan Rapinoe. Earlier that day, Barack headlined Show Me Your Walk, HBCU Edition—a two-hour livestream event for historically black universities.
