How To Match Your Mask with Your Makeup

Caring for others with a cat eye!

Instagram

It’s 2020. We’re masking and we’re matching. Take one scroll through Instagram or the hashtag #maskmakeup and you’ll see beauty pros and novices alike wearing a mask (thank you!) and donning a coordinating eye look. We’ve matched our bra and underwear, we’ve matched our nails and our lipstick, and now it’s time to match our masks and our makeup.

To find out exactly how it’s done, we tapped Erin Parsons, Maybelline Global Makeup Artist and celebrity makeup artist to Gigi Hadid and Josephine Skriver, to share the best tips and tricks for coordination. “Start playing with this idea by using a softer-toned mask,” Parsons says. “As you become more comfortable, then go for a brighter or more unique tone, and play with the eyes as a contrast that complements. For instance, a burnt orange mask would look gorgeous with royal blue eyeshadow.” (Parsons’ current favorite is Maybelline’s Color Strike in Ace!)

Below, take some inspiration from 10 different masked and matching beauty looks to live your best socially distanced life.
