Kanye West has made numerous public comments in the last couple of weeks imploring his ex Kim Kardashian to take him back and save their marriage. From changing lyrics in “Runaway” to beg her to run back to him during his concert last Thursday to a source leaking to Page Six that West has a “Holy Trinity” of reasons they should reconcile, the rapper has not relented—and Kardashian is not charmed by it.
Sources gave E! and Page Six insight into how Kardashian feels about West’s grand gestures. The only public statement Kardashian has made herself was filing to become legally single and drop West’s last name from hers. That court filing came hours after West changed his “Runaway” lyrics to say “I need you to run right back to me. More specifically, Kimberly,” while she watched his concert.
In court docs E! and TMZ reviewed yesterday, Kardashian wrote, “Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means.”
A source spoke to E! about Kardashian’s private reaction to West’s public serenades. Kardashian “tries not to pay attention [to his impassioned shoutouts],” the source said. She tries to “ignore it when he does this.”
Kardashian knows West won’t end the public reconciliation attempts until he wants to. “[He] wears his heart on his sleeve and says exactly what he wants to say,” the source said. “Nobody is going to stop him, and Kim knows that.”
Privately, West is dating 22-year-old model Vinetria, who has been staying at West’s Malibu house, Page Six reports. Kardashian is very aware of that arrangement and her filing to become single was partly her acknowledgement of that. “Kim is making a statement by doubling down that she’s single,” a source told the outlet. “She thinks it’s strange that Kanye keeps saying he wants her back, but all the while he’s got the [22-year-old] model at his Malibu house.” Kardashian, multiple sources told Page Six, does want to keep things “nice” between her and West for the sake of their four children. Kardashian herself has been dating Pete Davidson for the last month.
