Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are talking and hanging again after months of no direct contact and as West’s romance with Irina Shayk continues. E! got details from a source close to Kardashian about what their dynamic is like now after the former couple were spotted with their children at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco on Saturday.
The museum trip is Kimye’s first public sighting together since Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February. It comes after a source told Page Six in March that the couple had no contact, as West reportedly “changed his numbers and said [to Kardashian], ‘You can contact me through my security.’”
Things are much better now, E!’s source made clear: Kardashian and West are “talking and getting along well. Kim has always been open to co-parenting together and being able to do things as a family. Kanye needed some time, but he now seems more open to it.”
The source added that Kardashian “gave him the space he needed,” and West contacted Kardashian when he was “ready.” The two are now communicating more. “She knows how important family time is and wants the kids to have a great relationship with Kanye, so she’s willing to do whatever it takes to see that happen,” the source said.
West is still pursuing his romance with Shayk despite Page Six’s report last week that their relationship was fizzling out due to Shayk’s lack of interest. “They are still in touch and he has seen her a few times,” the outlet’s source said. “He is very interested in dating her and seeing her.”
TMZ also ran a report on Shayk and West over the weekend, claiming that Page Six’s depiction of their relationship being done was off the mark. Multiple sources close to Shayk and West told the outlet that they’re still dating and spent the Fourth of July weekend together in San Francisco. “We’re told things are as hot as ever,” the outlet wrote.
