It’s official: Jill Biden is the next First Lady of the United States of America. And she’s celebrating. In this Instagram photo with Joe Biden, Jill covers up the “vice” in a sign that says “Dr. and Vice President Biden live here.” That’s President and Dr. Biden to you now, America!
On top of it, Joe Biden is wearing a hat that says “We just did. 46.”

Biden is also making history with this win: She will be the first first lady to have a full-time job outside of the White House. She will continue to keep her job as a professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College.
“I like working,” Biden told Michelle Ruiz for Vogue in September. “Like so many of your readers, I’m a working woman. [Teaching is] my passion. That’s what I love doing. That has been my career and really a major focus in my life, so I feel like I could handle it and do everything else that first ladies want to do.”
During the Democratic National Convention, she gave a speech in the classroom of the high school where she used to teach, Brandwine High School in Delaware, where she used to teach.

“Hey, everyone, I’m Jill Biden’s husband,” Joe Biden said, as he cut in at the end of her speech. “As you heard tonight, you can see why she’s the love of my life and the rock of our family. She never gives herself much credit, but the truth is, she’s the strongest person I know…nothing stops her when she sets her mind to getting something right.”
