Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their three children share a Kensington Palace home, but it’s not often that the public gets a look into their private life. On Sunday, via a Public Health England initiative, the public got a rare look into the property.
In one of the photos, Kate can be seen on the phone in what looks like her living room. She’s wearing a pink suit and leaning against her desk, on which there is a collection of Penguin Clothbound Classics. Hello! magazine wrote these books were each individually designed by Corlie Bickford-Smith. There appears to be a small chair in the background that looks fit for a toddler.
Another photo shows William on the phone behind a printer in what looks like a separate sitting room.
The campaign surrounds the duke and duchess’s efforts to advocate for the importance of mental health during the coronavirus global pandemic.
“Self-isolation and social distancing can pose huge challenges to our mental health—in recent weeks The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been in regular contact with organizations and patronages to understand the issues they are facing during this difficult time,” the caption of the post reads, in part. “Last week ☎️ The Duke spoke to @mindcharity CEO Paul Farmer, and The Duchess spoke to Catherine Roche, CEO of @_place2be.”
William and Kate have long made mental healthcare their philanthropic priority through their charity Heads Together. The charity, which the pair launched with Prince Harry, was the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon Charity of the Year.
Last October, William, Kate, Harry, and Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, released a PSA through “Every Mind Matters.” The video carries a similar message to the March message surrounding the pandemic.

“Everyone knows that feeling when life gets on top of us,” Prince William says in the voiceover at the beginning of the video. “All over the country, millions of us face challenges to our mental health—at all ages, at all intensities, and for all sorts of reasons.”
“We feel stressed, low, anxious or have trouble sleeping,” Prince Harry adds in the video. “We think there is nothing to be done, nothing we can do about it.”
“But now there’s a new way to help turn things around,” Meghan says. “Every Mind Matters will show you simple ways to look after your mental health.”
