Gigi Hadid confirmed reports she’s pregnant with her first child yesterday, and now her family is opening up about how they feel about the news. Dua Lipa, who’s dating Gigi’s brother Anwar (and is currently quarantining with him in London), was among the first to speak out. The singer was congratulated on becoming an “auntie” during a radio interview with The Edge NZ.
“Yeah! It’s very exciting news,” Dua said of the pregnancy announcement yesterday. “We’re very, very excited.” Dua was asked how long she had been sitting on the secret, and she laughed. “Look, you guys are really putting me in place. I was a little bit before that [TMZ’s report two days ago], not long.”
Gigi spoke about her pregnancy herself during her appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night. Fallon congratulated her on the news, and she thanked him for the well wishes.
“Obviously, you know, we wish we could’ve announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support so…” she started.
“I’m trying [to be present for every part of pregnancy],” she added. “Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together and really experience it.”
Gigi’s mom Yolanda said her daughter is due in September, confirming reports she’s about 20 weeks along. TMZ reported earlier this week that Gigi and her boyfriend Zayn Malik are expecting a baby girl.
