Demi Lovato Considering Eloping With Fiancé Max Ehrich – Wedding Plans

Demi Lovato is ready to get married to her fiancé Max Ehrich, the man she’s been dating for just six months. So ready, in fact, that she’s considering eloping during the coronavirus pandemic. In an interview Lovato did with PopCrush Nights hosts Kayla Thomas and Matt Ryan, the singer candidly spoke about her wedding plans and how conflicted she was feeling about them because of COVID-19.

Thomas asked Lovato if she has started looking at wedding dresses. Lovato admitted yes—then explained what the wedding planning status is. “I have started looking at dresses,” Lovato started. “But the thing is with the pandemic, it’s like on one hand, I would love to elope because my life is so public and I want to keep it sacred between me and him. On the other hand, I want my friends and family to be there for a celebration, but I can’t do that until the pandemic’s over because it’s not safe so it’s like, what do we—do we do that [elope] in the meantime and then do that [a big wedding ceremony] later? It’s all this planning. But I have my image for what I would want it to be if I got to do a big celebration and I don’t want to give it away but it’s definitely not a white dress.”

Lovato’s interview was conducted shortly before Ehrich’s past tweets and comments about wanting to marry Selena Gomez (and his gushing similarly about other female stars like Ariana Grande and Gigi Hadid) went viral on Twitter. Lovato responded to the controversy, calling the social media posts fake. “It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU.”

Ehrich deleted his Twitter, but he appears in an old Instagram Live video speaking about how much he loves Gomez and addressing his past tweets about her. “My teenage self, like, said it in an interview as well so it’s kind of been this ongoing thing but then like obviously I put it out on Twitter, and I didn’t even realize that would catch like—that people would take that like seriously,” he began, referencing his Gomez tweets.

“But yeah, I honestly think Selena Gomez is an extraordinary women,” he continued. “What she stands for charity-wise, just being an activist, she just has a great heart. Her heart is in the right place. She loves Jesus. She loves God. She’s just like, she’s an angel, and I love her, but on top of that, I respect her musically and I want to make music with her. Okay? I want to make a song with her and put out a song.”

Ehrich and Lovato got engaged earlier this summer, after less than five months of dating. In a recent interview with SiriusXM Hits 1’s The Morning Mash Up, Lovato said it was love at first sight for her with Ehrich. “We started dating. We immediately went into quarantine,” she said, via People. “I knew I loved him the night I met him. So a week later we went into quarantine. I was like, ‘Look, we’re quarantining together. Um, cause I love you.'”

She added that quarantine really accelerated things between them. “We were able to share this time together that we wouldn’t have normally gotten to spend,” she said. “And that accelerated our relationship on a level that you can’t really explain to people, but quarantine either makes or breaks the deal. And it really made that. So I’m really blessed, really fortunate and continuing to count my blessings every day.”
