Blake Lively Wears Three Outfits in One Day for ‘The Rhythm Section’ NYC Press Tour

Blake Lively kicked off her The Rhythm Section press tour with a mini fashion marathon in New York City yesterday afternoon. The actress wore three vintage-inspired dresses in one day, including her first red carpet look of the decade.

For that occasion—the premiere of the film—Lively wore a strapless, form-fitting black gown. She accessorized it with a big pearl necklace, high lace-up Christian Louboutin boots, and matching gloves. She arrived to the Brooklyn Academy of Music dressed like that:

And she left wearing something completely different, because you can’t pull off a Blake Lively-level fashion marathon if you don’t take advantage of every sensible opportunity to change clothes. Lively kept her high lace-up boots and gloves but switched into a floral dress. Femme fatale seemed to be the theme of the day:

Before either of those events, Lively kicked off her press tour by wearing a pink trench dress with necklaces, leather gloves, and lace-up boots again.

The Rhythm Section comes out January 31, so this was just the first day of outfits Lively has planned. Already, she wore an all-yellow Fendi look this morning to appear on Good Morning America:

The actress is proudly her own stylist and explained to Women’s Wear Daily back in 2018 why she chooses to take on the task. “I have control issues and a big ego—that’s probably the honest answer [for why I won’t hire a stylist],” she deadpanned before becoming more serious. “I just like it. I love design and I love fashion and it’s a way to be creative. In my job I get to be creative, but it’s over a period of time and so many other people are involved, whereas this is a beginning, middle and end, and I get to be creative and there’s an end date in the near future. It’s the same reason why I like doing my friends’ hair and makeup or cooking—you get to be creative and finish it. Whereas with my job you do it and then two years later it’s finished. It probably goes back to the control issues; it’s like, ‘Okay, I did it, I completed it, it’s done!’”
