Ariana Grande opted to make her first appearance since her secret wedding at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards this evening in Los Angeles. The newlywed singer wore a silky purple crop top and skirt on stage, putting her abs on display. She skipped the red carpet ahead of the show since she and The Weeknd were the ceremony’s opening act.
Grande performed “Save Your Tears” with him. She is also nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Dance Song of the Year (“Rain on Me” with Lady Gaga).
Grande’s outing this evening comes after she quietly married Gomez on May 15 in her Montecito home’s backyard. Grande’s rep confirmed the marriage to People, saying the wedding “was tiny and intimate—less than 20 people. The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”
Grande shared wedding photos on her Instagram yesterday. And sources spoke to E! and People about the ceremony itself.
A source explained to People why Grande and Gomez chose her home as their venue. “Both Ari and Dalton love Montecito. They spend a lot of time there,” People’s source said. “It seems only natural that they would get married at Ari’s beautiful and historic house.”
E!’s source said Grande and Gomez were surrounded by “hundreds of white florals” when they exchanged vows “It was beautiful but not over the top,” the source said. “Ari wanted it to be simplistic and tasteful. All they cared about was having family there and to be able to enjoy the special moment together.”
