The coronavirus pandemic forced Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez to move their wedding back not once, but twice after they got engaged in March 2019. Now, two years after Rodriguez’s proposal, Entertainment Tonight has an update from a source about what the couple’s relationship is like now.
Despite the two discussing not getting married after all and just being long-term partners, the source made it clear that they do still want to wed.
“Jennifer and Alex are still planning on getting married,” the source started. “He is so into her, and they have so much fun together. It is amazing how well they get along. She trusts him like no one else she has been with, and is in one of the best places in her career and personal life.”
Basically, the source made it clear that Rodriguez is the perfect fiancé to Lopez and a wonderful part of her life. Also, the man recognizes how incredible his fiancée is and lets her know that all the time.
“[She] definitely loves how he is with her kids [ 13-year-old twins Emme and Max] and he is always supportive and on board championing anything she does,” the source said. “He is her biggest fan. [He] tells her how gorgeous, smart and perfect she is all day. He is so in love with her and has no problem showing it.”
Lopez spoke to GQ back in November 2019 about why her relationship with Rodriguez works. “I mean, we’re very similar,” she said. “We’re really alike in our drive, in our ambition. He’s an athlete. He wanted to be the best. I’m the same way. I just want to be great at what I do. We’re both like that. We’re both super-hard workers. We’re driven by our passions. And we have a tremendous amount of respect for each other. Everybody in the room can be talking, and if he says something, I key in on it, and if everybody in the room is kinda in his ear and I go, ‘I don’t think that’s the right thing,’ he’ll hear me; he’ll listen. He knows I only have his best interest at heart, and I only want him to thrive and succeed and to be his best self. And I believe that he wants that for me. He wants me to be seen and to get what I deserve. Like, he’s made his half a billion. And he’s like, ‘I want you to have that.’”
