At Luxe Pack Monaco, Albéa banks on desirable eco-design

Once again this year, Albéa Group’s watchword at Luxe Pack Monaco is to combine desirability and eco-responsibility in its packaging developments! From 30 September to 2 October 2024, the beauty packaging specialist will showcase its latest solutions, across its two main areas of expertise: cosmetics and fragrances on the one hand, and tubes on the other.

Albéa will be displaying its innovations on a stand decorated in soft shades of white, wood, and pink, embellished with plants and dried flowers. This aesthetic bias mirrors the global orientation of the Group’s packaging solutions: to combine attractiveness and eco-responsibility, be it for its Cosmetics & Fragrance (C&F) Division or its Tubes Division.

Tube recyclability and decoration

By combining its EcoFusion Top solution, which is making rapid inroads into the skincare segment, with the increased use of recycled materials for every tube component, including capsules, Albéa Tubes is strengthening its commitment to the circular economy. As a reminder, EcoFusion Top is a new generation of ultra-fine capsules, which will be presented on the Albéa stand, alongside the Slight Cap and Basic Cap, made from 70% PCR PP. As for tubes, they can now contain up to 60% recycled materials, depending on the skirt and head selected.

The Albéa Tubes Division will also introduce the Advanced Decoration By NovaPrint solution, which enables flat printing on a polyethylene (PE) film, to create sophisticated and complex designs. The solution eliminates sideseams on extruded tubes, offering a premium, high-quality finish. “The tube decoration is vital for differentiation, brand identity, and consumer engagement, but it must not compromise durability,” explains Caroline Hughes, Marketing Director of the Albéa Tubes Division. “This printing solution is the most innovative on the market, combining the advantages of both extruded and laminated tubes while offering a more sustainable alternative, thanks to a thinner skirt that reduces the weight of the tube,” she adds.

The Fancy Deco offer also enhances the decoration possibilities for tubes by adding five new printing effects, such as the lenticular effect, combining two images that change from one to the other as the angle of observation changes, the movement effect on the tube, and the 3D effect, to name but a few.

New gestures for the Albéa C&F Division

The Albéa C&F teams, for their part, will premier innovations designed to offer distinctive customer experience, with skincare and make-up solutions that meet targeted needs in terms of practicality, without compromising on durability, of course.

Refillable beauty products are this year’s hot topic in skincare, whether for the face, body, or hair!

The Polaris refillable single-material (PP) jar comes with a cap secured to the base by an invisible hinge that simplifies the whole beauty routine. The cap no longer moves around, and there is no risk of it falling off. “To encourage the adoption of rechargeable solutions, our role is to make them simple and intuitive,” explains Aline Roland, Marketing & Communications Director for Albéa’s C&F Division. “With Polaris, we have taken a new step forward by combining an innovative and sophisticated design with significant environmental impact reduction thanks to the use of monomaterials,” she adds.

The Powder Breathe is another new product, this time on the make-up side. This sophisticated container for loose powders is a real step forward in terms of ease of use, as it allows the user to control the amount of powder needed, thus limiting the amount of wasted product. It is available in PP in combination with elastomer and is refillable.

Finally, Albéa Group will take advantage of the Luxe Pack trade show in Monaco to highlight the expertise of its Albéa Beauty Lab, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. Formerly known as the Albéa Tips Studio, Albéa Beauty Lab is a workshop focusing on the invention, development, and manufacture of application solutions for the make-up and skincare markets. Until now, clients had to visit the Albéa Beauty Lab’s single workshop in Italy. From now on, the Albéa Beauty Lab teams will be able to welcome customers in the United States, in the states of New York and Texas. Thanks to rapid prototyping capabilities, customers can participate in live development in the chosen workshop and perform make-up tests in real conditions before leaving with their brand-new product. Since its creation, the Albéa Beauty Lab has developed more than forty products and has a catalogue of 600 applicators.

Last but not least, on Monday 30 September, the opening day of the show, Gilles Swyngedauw, Albéa Group’s VP of Innovation and CSR, will be giving a talk on the recyclability of packaging in the cosmetics industry, indeed, a strategic issue for the Group.
