The Kardashian-Jenner family has made millions off their drama, primarily through their long-running reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, where they can control how the story is told. But yesterday, Kim Kardashian’s former best friend Larsa Pippen did something unprecedented: She gave a tell-all interview to Hollywood Raw where she spoke candidly about Kim’s husband Kanye West “brainwashing” the family against her and claimed she dated Khloé Kardashian’s seemingly back-on boyfriend Tristan Thompson before Khloé did.
The claims and aftermath are already a little messy, especially for those unfamiliar with Pippen. Here, what to know about what Pippen has said and how the family is reacting.
Pippen and the Kardashian sisters inexplicably fell out this summer.
The entire Kardashian family unfollowed longtime friend Pippen on Instagram in July, sparking speculation about drama brewing. Kanye West tweeted about Pippen, writing, “Larsa 🤔” before later deleting it.
A source spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the time about what happened, at least from the family’s perspective. “Larsa and the Kardashian sisters aren’t friends anymore and have grown apart,” the source said. “The Kardashians felt Larsa wasn’t bringing the best energy to their friendships and slowly drifted. No one has negative feelings toward one another, but they didn’t see a reason to continue to stay close.”
That source added amid rumors that Pippen and Tristan Thompson were previously romantically involved, “nothing happened between Larsa and Tristan.”

Pippen spoke out about her drama with the family this week on Hollywood Raw, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Pippen blamed West for the family turning against her. “[Kanye] has literally brainwashed the whole family into thinking I don’t even know what,” she said. “I don’t even know. He talks so much about me being this and that and this and that.”
“[Kanye] used to call me at four, five, and six o’clock in the morning,” she said. “I was the person that would take his calls when he wanted to rant. I would listen to him. I would be like, ‘I love you, you’re the best, things will get better.’ I was his go-to person to call when he wasn’t happy with X, Y, and Z. … Maybe because I blocked him on my phone because I couldn’t bear taking his calls anymore. I can’t, I’m drained. So, I blocked him on my phone. Obviously, that really upset him. So, he turned that into, ‘Oh, she’s this and she’s that.’ [The Kardashians] all started to ride his wave. If you’re that easily swayed like the wind then do I really give a fuck? Should I give a fuck? I don’t know. Was I hurt by it? Yes. But at the same time, I’m like, I’ve done nothing. I’ve never done one thing. I’ve been the most honest and truthful best friend to all of them.”
She said she dated Thompson before Khloé did but did not have an affair with him while he and Khloé were together. Thompson would go on to cheat on Khloé multiple times, including while she was pregnant with their daughter, True. Last year, Thompson cheated with Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods, causing the family to drop Woods, too. Khloé and Thompson have recently begun dating again.
“I was seeing him, I had him come to L.A. I brought him to a party Kim had,” Pippen said. “I introduced him to all of them. Then a week later, or 10 days later, he started seeing Khloé. Which is fine, I don’t even care. It’s whatever. I’m the type of person that doesn’t chase what’s not for me. I will never chase a man; I will never put a leash on a man. I don’t do that. I feel like, let you be great. If you want to be with other people, go ahead. I’m great by myself.” It’s also worth noting that Thompson left his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig, when he started dating Khloé.
Craig claimed in court documents that Thompson cheated on her, which caused complications in her pregnancy. Thompson denied this on Twitter, writing, “When I met Khloe I was SINGLE, The negative comments that are constantly being directed towards her are unnecessary. She does not deserve all this backlash for my wrong doings. Both Khloè and Jordan have been nothing but great mothers to my kids.”
Pippen shut down allegations she hit on Kylie’s ex Travis Scott. Pippen said, “I feel like I ran into Travis Scott one night at a club and Travis called Kylie and said that I was hitting on him. That never happened. So, then they were like, ‘Kanye says she’s this and then she was hitting on Travis.’ By the way, that never happened. I left with the same people I came with. That never freaking happened. Was he delusional? I know he raps about being the highest in the fucking room. So, clearly, maybe he was the highest in the fucking room. He imagined all this shit because it never happened. I would never do that, I would never in a billion years do that.”
Woods responds to Pippen’s claims about Thompson on Twitter.
Woods tweeted, “Make it make sense,” yesterday afternoon with a thinking emoji, seemingly in response to Pippen’s interview.
When Woods went on Red Table Talk last year to tell her side of the Thompson story, Pippen slammed her for doing an interview about the incident. “If you’re gonna be doing interviews tell the truth,” Pippen wrote on Instagram, according to Complex. “I don’t handle my problems publicly, I handle them privately.”

Woods also liked a tweet about the Pippen drama where a user wrote, “So she was projecting her own guilt onto young ass Jordyn. Got it.”
The Kardashian family hasn’t talked about the drama directly yet, but sources told E! they are not amused and see Pippen as “toxic.”
The Kardashian family hasn’t addressed Pippen’s interview on their social media yet (Kim was busy sharing new photos from her “tone-deaf” private island birthday vacation), but multiple sources spoke to E! about their reaction and addressed some of Pippen’s claims.
One source said, “They think she’s trying to stay relevant and Kim doesn’t appreciate the accusations regarding Kanye. The family is very protective over one another and all feel like she violated their privacy by dishing out details to the public.” That source added that West “never trusted” Pippen.
Khloé also doesn’t buy Pippen’s claim about Thompson, the source maintained. “Khloé doesn’t believe Larsa was dating Tristan before her,” the source said. “Larsa knew Tristan, but they were never dating.”
“They all think Larsa is toxic energy,” the source continued, adding that Kim has a “soft spot” for her only because they had gone through a lot during their friendship.
