Happy birthday, Hilary Duff! Today is the accomplished actress, singer, and mom’s 33rd birthday, and to celebrate the millennial queen, we’re taking a look back at her transformation over the years!
It’s Hilary Duff‘s birthday! Today, September 28, the former Disney darling turns 33 years old and we cannot believe how much time has passed since Hilary was traveling around Rome reminding us “What Dreams Are Made Of” in The Lizzie McGuire Movie in 2003. Now, Hilary has accomplished so much between her music and acting career to her personal life. What better way to celebrate Hilary on her birthday than by looking back at her journey to stardom!
Hilary was first introduced to what would become a devoted fan base in 2001 when she took on the titular role in the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire. The young actress — then only 14 years old — portrayed the teen icon for over 65 episodes between 2001-2004. She also appeared in the feature-length movie in 2003, where her burgeoning singing talent was put on full display.

She became a millennial icon, appearing in films like A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice, and Cheaper By The Dozen. In 2003, her debut album Metamorphosis became a huge hit among fans, with songs like “So Yesterday” and “Come Clean.” In 2004, Hilary followed-up her first album with her second, self-titled album Hilary Duff, featuring hits like “Fly” and “Someone’s Watching Over Me.”
The young talent also saw success in her acting career, appearing in a number of episodes of Gossip Girl in 2009. One year later, Hilary married her NHL player husband Mike Comrie and the couple welcomed their son Luca Cruz Comrie in March 2012. Unfortunately, Hilary filed for divorce from Mike in 2015, after the couple had been separated for one year. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.

From 2015-2019, she played Kelsey Peters on the series Younger and her music career found second life with her album Breathe In. Breathe Out. — her first studio album since 2007’s Dignity. Now, Hilary’s thriving in both her professional and personal life!
She’s back playing the role that made her famous in the reboot of Lizzie McGuire, which still has yet to find a new home away from Disney+. In 2019, Hilary married her beau Matthew Koma with whom she shares daughter Banks Violet Bair, born in October 2018. With a whole new year ahead of her, we cannot wait to see what Hilary accomplishes next!
