Twitter Reacts to Kylie Jenner Breaking Social Distance to Party and Club During COVID-19

The Kardashian-Jenners haven’t exactly been role models when it comes to adhering to California’s shelter-in-home order during the coronavirus pandemic. Kylie Jenner is the latest family member to ignore government guidance because she wanted to go out clubbing Sunday night (to Bootsy Bellows, which according to Daily Mail, was opened just for her and her friends) and to her best friend Anastasia Karanikolaou’s 23rd birthday party last night. She didn’t wear a mask either time, nor did anyone else.

Karanikolaou shared a group photo of the gang at her party. It looked like your standard extravagant backyard Kardashian-Jenner party, with personalized pillows, cakes, desserts, and clothes.

Paparazzi, meanwhile, got shots of Jenner and family friend Fai Khadra arriving at Bootsy Bellows on Sunday night. Apparently, she stayed until 1:20 AM, Daily Mail reports.

Twitter was unimpressed with Jenner’s activities. Many were disappointed that Jenner was willing to risk getting COVID-19 to go clubbing but not go protest. “Kylie Jenner getting a club to open for her and her friends in the middle of a pandemic but won’t go out and protest for her black daughter and the black members of her family ……….” one user wrote.

“Ur telling me that kylie jenner went out clubbing last night, didn’t social distance, and didn’t wear a face mask ??” another tweeted. “Especially with everything going on in the world; people fighting for their lives ?? Well, I can’t say I’m surprised. But honestly, who even is.”

Several others made the same point, noting Jenner got to break city curfew to club during the LA protests while others were punished for doing so just because they wanted to go out and fight for an end to racial violence and police brutality—far nobler causes.

So Kylie Jenner can break LA curfew to go to a club but people can’t protest murder🤔

@KylieJenner is not someone we should endorse. Her use of her platform is garbage (only good for Stormi videos) and she broke quarantine rules to have a birthday party for her friend. We all want to celebrate with our loved ones but can’t right now, you’re not superior girl.

You use your privilege to party till the morning without wearing a mask. There is literally no end how tone deaf and stupid you can be.

Funny how some celebs like Kylie Jenner doesn’t hesitate to break lockdown rules to party but when it comes to protesting for Black Lives Matter she draws the line #BlakeLivesMatter

So @KylieJenner can party till 1am but not post more for the #BlackLivesMattermovement considering that she is a mother to a black child and her platform would play an immense role in spreading awareness smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ https://t.co/4Ob2NjcMqJ

How come you were out partying? No face mask and no social distancing? You are a mother. A influence. A person that millions of people look up to. Showing your age.

Jenner’s excursions aren’t the only tone-deaf moves by the family during the pandemic. Kourtney Kardashian chartered a private jet to take her family on vacation to a five-star hotel in Utah for Memorial Day weekend despite California not allowing non-essential travel because she wanted “a change of scenery,” a source told E!.

Kendall Jenner broke California’s shelter-in-home order in April to go on an over 7-hour road trip (one way) to Sedona, Arizona, with someone she was not quarantining with, NBA player Devin Booker. Jenner wanted to get “some much-needed air,” TMZ reported, since apparently her 6,625-square-foot Beverly Hills estate did not provide enough.
