Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger Will Welcome Their First Child Together

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt are expecting their first baby together, People reports. The two were married last June at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California and announced their engagement in January 2019.

This will be Schwarzenegger’s first child and Pratt’s second; he shares his seven-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.

Last month, E! News reported that the couple had been talking about planning their family.

“She’s expressed she’d love to be pregnant in early 2020,” a source said of Schwarzenegger, who just released her fourth book, The Gift of Forgiveness. “Chris has a busy year coming up with filming, but both of them are ready to start this next chapter and bring a baby into their happy marriage.”

It seems like starting a family has always been in the plans for these two. In fact, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight following his engagement announcement at the beginning of January 2019, Pratt himself shared that he and his bride want a big family.

“The future? Oh. Lots of kids,” he said at the time. “Maybe less time spent working, more time spent enjoying life…I always want to be that guy that works to live, not lives to work. I think [I want to spend] just a lot of time at the farm and a lot of time catching a lot of fish and seeing lots of sunsets,” he added.

In an appearance on E!’s In the Room, Pratt predicted that his wife would be an excellent mother; he also praised how Schwarzenegger is with Jack.

“She has changed my life for the better in so many ways,” Pratt said then. “My heart, my soul, my son I feel are all so safe with her. She’s a great stepmom. She’s, God willing, going to be a great mom one day. She’s got great parents, great siblings, she fills in all my many deficits.”

Schwarzenegger has reportedly shifted her book tour schedule to virtual events because of the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, Pratt will appear in the Parks and Recreation reunion episode, which benefits Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund.
