Who is Whitney Peak? – Meet the New Gossip Girl Reboot Star

The Gossip Girl reboot has found its first five Upper East Siders. One of the chicly-dressed new residents will be played by 15-year-old Whitney Peak. Details about Peak’s character are limited. But until we know more about the tea-sipping teen she’ll be playing, get to know the latest newcomer to join the Gossip Girl cast.

She could be playing a Serena or Blair-esque role in Gossip Girl.

Little is known about Peak’s role in the upcoming HBO Max series. But Deadline suggests she could be the Serena to Emily Alyn Lind’s Blair—or vice versa. Peak and Lind will be joined by actors Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez, and Jason Gotay in the project. At the time of Peak’s casting, no character name or description was provided. But the outlet noted, “The new series is said to have a similar character dynamic to the original, with Peak, Brown and Lind as the leading trio and Fernandez and Gotay as members of the core ensemble.”

Peak confirmed the news herself, writing on Instagram, “secret’s out … xoxo 💋.”

She also stars in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

If Peak looks familiar, you may recognize her as the mysterious Judith Blackwood on Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. In addition to starring in seasons two and three of the supernatural series, Peak has co-starred in Molly’s Game, Hallmark’s Campfire Kiss, and an episode of iZombie.

She hails from Uganda and Canada.

Although Gossip Girl firmly takes place in the world of New York City, Peak comes from a much different environment. According to IMDB, the actress was born in Kampala, Uganda and spent much of her childhood growing up in Canada.

She’ll fit right into the high fashion world of GG.

As for how Peak will fit into the world of Gossip Girl? Look no further than this Instagram post from March 2019, where the actress effortlessly pairs a graphic tee with bright orange joggers—all while posing on a pair of Met-esque steps. (Serena and Blair, who?)
