Twitter Thinks Timothée Chalamet Looks Like Anything But an Oscar-Nominated Actor

Will the real Timothée Chalamet please stand up? That’s the question Twitter is asking after seeing the actor’s red carpet look at the 2020 Oscars. Chalamet wore a navy zip-up tracksuit by Prada over a white tee for the event. He paired the sporty look with a white gold, ruby, diamond, and platinum Cartier brooch. As for his grooming, the Oscar presenter kept it classic—no facial hair here!

The actor was on hand to present the award for Best Adapted Screenplay and support Little Women, which is nominated in six categories. But the actor, who was nominated in 2018 for Call Me By Your Name, didn’t look like a thespian this evening, according to Twitter. Instead, social media cast Chalamet in a Village People-worthy array of roles based on his red carpet look.

Some felt the he was giving off gym teacher vibes, others drew comparisons between Chalamet and a Ghostbuster, or one of Cinderella’s footmen. While Timmy usually inspires discourse with his red carpet ensembles, this time felt different. He wasn’t redefining fashion in a sequined harness or floral suit. Instead, he went decidedly pedestrian in a cozy ‘fit worthy of the three hour-plus ceremony.

Although Twitter had multiple ideas about which occupation Chalamet was channeling, one prevailed over all the others: valet driver. Consider our parking validated. Below, a roundup of the best tweets about Chalamet’s 2020 Oscars look.

This is so insulting. I know Timothee Chalamet is not nominated but it is wrong to make him do valet parking. pic.twitter.com/457KY5av8K
