The Voyage of designer and CEO Alina Balykina
The core of BALYKINA is rooted in the individual journey and inventive past of its creator. Alina, educated as a film producer, initially envisioned a life dedicated to cinema by the age of twenty. This ambition was partly realized: her studies ignited a passion for the “golden age of Hollywood” from the 1930s to the 1950s. The enduring elegance of this period later became an inherent part of the BALYKINA world. Designing gowns became her avenue for narrating women’s stories.

BALYKINA isn’t Alina’s initial foray into the fashion realm. Her endeavors began over a decade prior with handmade accessories, later evolving into signature sweaters and cardigans, a thriving showroom on Gorodetskogo Street, her initial gown, and a debut showcase at MFW in 2016. The subsequent venture involved a casual wear brand. However, working with fundamental items allowed the designer to recognize her genuine calling: crafting evening dresses that highlight femininity and instill a sense of self-admiration in women.
The BALYKINA brand is the culmination of extensive exploration and knowledge — the third and most fruitful phase of Alina Balykina’s artistic development.

Genesis of BALYKINA
Alina’s creations were first unveiled to potential BALYKINA patrons back in 2016. Thus, even prior to the official establishment of the brand, she was crafting personalized gowns for them — exceptional and unique, including bridal attire. Her proficiency and skill rapidly garnered acclaim, leading to the launch of the eponymous BALYKINA brand by Alina Balykina in 2019 — with a mere $800 investment.
Yet, thanks to the pre-existing community of clients, the brand realized profitability from its initial month. BALYKINA has flourished organically from its inception — without external funding, but with significant reliance and affection from women who remain devoted to the label.

The route of brand advancement
The BALYKINA history realistically commenced with a modest workshop in the attic, where Alina was supported by just one seamstress. This individual remains a member of the brand's team, presently spearheading the experimental segment of creating novel collections.
The team progressively expanded; nonetheless, even with two seamstresses contributing to the workshop, Alina remained directly involved in every facet — from client consultations to the most minor production particulars.
Gradually, BALYKINA matured, upholding its genuineness and focus on specifics. This step-by-step progression has defined the character of the label and cultivated a distinctive ambiance appreciated by clients with each fresh collection and service.

BALYKINA specializes in women's formal wear. The label's designs are known for adaptable and structured tailoring, allowing for multiple wearing options. As an illustration, a dress may be altered with the addition of a train or worn inside out, yielding an entirely different aesthetic. Embellishments like unique clasps, evocative of period corsets, contribute a striking allure to the garments. The BALYKINA philosophy centers on corset dresses and corsets, where the brand’s inspiration embodies intrinsic beauty, independence, allure, and fortitude.
