A number of large-scale film adaptations of the master of horrors, Stephen King, are on our radar – from the dystopia “The Long Run” to the series “Vono. We kindly ask you to Derry.” On the day of the National Writer's Day we learn about some of your favorite films, so let's re-watch them.
The Life of Chuck

Chuck Krantz (Tom Giddleston) is a great guy. However, his name is becoming known all over the place, all the secrets that appear everywhere – on banners, radio, on the Internet, on the walls and windows of booths. “Chuck Krantz. 39 monster rocks. Thank you, Chuck!” – written on the posters. Nobody knows who Chuck is, but let’s just say: if he dies, the whole world will die with him.
The film is based on a short story by Stephen King, which was released in 2020 by If It Bleeds. World media call “The Life of Chuck” the finest screen adaptation of Stephen King in the 21st century. Strichka won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Institute
“The Institute” is a concrete installation where people sneak in children with telepathic and telekinetic abilities. Among them is the 12-year-old genius Luke Ellis, who, under the supervision of the director Ms. Sigsby, gets to know other disabled children. In the “Institute” they conduct cruel experiments on them, trying to enhance paranormal powers.
The MGM channel premiered the series “The Institute,” based on the 2019 Stephen King novel of the same name. This book is often called the most “sublime” book of the writer.
“Long walk”
“The Long Course” is based on the novel of the same name, which Stephen King published in 1979 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. The races flare up in a motor-driven dystopian future, where a group of underlings take their part in a deadly monster that reminds us of “The Hunger Games.” The rules are cruelly simple: the participants toil without hesitation until they lose one more living survivor. Mark Gemill plays the role of the ruthless military man, known as Major, who enforces the ancient rules. The actor knows that the very idea of u200bu200b”Long Walk” gave him such a gloom that at first he was convinced of his participation. However, I changed my mind after speaking with director Francis Lawrence, the author of the films “The Hunger Games” and “I Am Legend.”

“Lyudina, why run”
One of the most popular rock films is the dystopian action film “A Man to Run” by Edgar Wright, which will become another adaptation of Stephen King's 1982 rock novel of the same name. Pods are heating up in 2025: in the game show “People to Run,” the participants become targets for the deadly careless Myslivtsy, who are tracking them around the world beyond the wine town. Starring Josh Brolin, Glen Pavel, Karl Glusman and Katie O'Brien.

“Here we go. We kindly ask you to Derry”
“Here we go. We kindly ask you to Derry” is a new series of the Jahiws that HBO is preparing. It will become a prequel to the films “Vono” and “Vono 2”, which were released in 2017 and 2019.
How often do the authors of the series promise to turn the watchers back to where it all began? They will be found in the state of Maine, near the town of Derry, in 1962, where the clown Pennywise traced the children in the original pages. But the series will show that children’s experiences were going on long before the days we know. The role of the evil clown is once again played by Bel Skashgord, who is Pennywise's engraver in recent films.
