A step towards reconciliation between son and father
Prince Harry had tea with Charles III at the king's private residence, Buckingham Palace has confirmed, NBC reports.
Charles III has not seen his son for the past 19 months – Harry had earlier said that his father refused to speak to him. The meeting between the royal family lasted less than an hour.
Harry arrived in the UK for the WellChild Awards, which celebrate seriously ill British children and those who care for them. For the event, he chose a bracelet from Ukrainian rehabilitation center Superhumans with the inscription “Whoever saves one life saves the world.” (In the original — Whoever saves one life saves the world. — Ed.)
In addition to the ceremony, Harry visited the grave of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The prince's relationship with King Charles III has been strained since 2020, when Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down from royal duties and moved to California. He has not seen his brother, Prince William, since February 2024. However, Harry has indicated that he is seeking reconciliation with the royal family.
“There's no point in constantly fighting. Life is short,” he said in an interview with the BBC.
Recall that in April this year, Prince Harry came to Lviv to visit the Superhumans clinic, where wounded military personnel and civilians are treated and rehabilitated.
