The Tamagotchi toy, which appeared a quarter of a century ago and drove adults and children crazy, is still popular.
In the anniversary year of its existence, Japanese manufacturer Bandai announced the development of an update for the virtual pet, which will now appear in the form of a smart watch.
The new product will be released under the name Tamagotchi Smart. According to forecasts, it may go on sale as early as the end of this fall.
According to the manufacturers, the updated Tamagotchi will be equipped with a touch screen. This feature will allow adding a new function.
If previously the pet had to be fed, walked, etc., now it will also be possible to pet it by stroking the display.
Also new is a built-in microphone, which will allow you to communicate with the “animal”. For now, the gadget will simply respond to sound, but will not be able to recognize commands.
In addition to fun, Tamagotchi Smart will be equipped with a pedometer. The device will also be able to exchange data with other gadgets.
With the help of TamaSma cards, particularly enthusiastic users will be able to register new pets or new accessories on the device.
