French manufacturer of metal packaging Massilly has acquired a majority stake in Eurobox Metal Packaging, a Spanish manufacturer of premium metal containers in a move aimed at strengthening its position in Europe’s premium metal packaging market.
With production chains in Spain and China, Eurobox produces standard or customized premium packaging for the luxury, perfumery, cosmetics and spirits markets.
With this acquisition, Massilly expands its Spanish footprint. The family-owned company also owns Iberembal, specialised in aerosols and caps, whose headquarters are in San Adrián (Navarra) and Grumetal, a company dedicated to canning and located in Sobradiel, a small town in the province of Zaragoza.
Eurobox joins a group that is present on all continents, employing more than 2,000 employees with a global turnover of more than 700 million euros per year. The Spanish company thus gains access to Massilly’s printing facilities in Spain and aims to develop its research, development and innovation activities.
