Brad Pitt’s reaction to ex-wife Jennifer Aniston’s SAG Awards acceptance speech for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series wasn’t shown during the broadcast—but that’s not because he didn’t have one. E! revealed that Pitt was backstage when Aniston won, and he “stopped everything” to watch Aniston speak. And he appeared captivated by her every word.

Pitt’s moment comes after Aniston made headlines again for her reaction to his SAG Awards acceptance speech.

It also comes after Aniston went viral for her reactions during Pitt’s Golden Globes speech. The internet was particularly into the smirk Aniston flashed when Pitt quipped, “I wanted to bring my mom [to the Globes] but I couldn’t because any woman I stand next to they say I’m dating.” The Golden Globes producers made sure to include a lot of shots of Aniston hearing her ex’s speech, for the benefit of everyone.

Pitt spoke(!!) about how he was game to take a photo with Aniston on the Golden Globes red carpet. Entertainment Tonight asked if he’d be up for having a public reunion with her. “I’ll run into Jen, she’s a good friend,” he said, making a little joke about how much everyone wants it to happen. “The second most important reunion of her year? I understand,” he added, clarifying, “That was a play on Friends. They were saying that.”
Pitt and Aniston ultimately had a reunion at CAA’s Golden Globes after party. “They said hello very quickly,” a source said. “Jen arrived after Brad. It was brief, but [they] were very cordial and friendly and seemed happy to be there. They approached each other once they saw each other inside and looked happy as they started to hug and say hello. Jen whispered something to Brad, but it wasn’t in an affectionate way. They both didn’t seem like they wanted to make a big deal about being together in the same room although it was a private party. They were trying to be low-key. Brad left shortly after and didn’t stay at the party long.”
