Last year, ahead of his wedding to now-Hailey Bieber, Justin Bieber posted a lengthy essay about his mental health journey, depression, and feeling “overwhelmed.” What he didn’t reveal then was that he was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which he contracted sometime in 2019. But Bieber is ready to open up about it now and broke it down for fans in a recent Instagram post.”While a lot of people kept saying justin Bieber looks like shit, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health,” he captioned a photo of a TMZ article announcing the news. For those unfamiliar with the disease, it’s a bacterial infection caused by tick bite that results in flu-like symptoms. In his upcoming YouTube docuseries Seasons, Bieber plans to discuss his battle with lyme disease, among other topics such as “the joys of marriage to the struggles through difficult seasons” as well as “his biggest challenges as he gets back into the studio to record his first album since 2015.” The docuseries follows Bieber’s return to music with his latest single “Yummy.”
