There’s been no shortage of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ drama this year. From mass firings to fan-favorites departing the show, here’s where all of the cast members currently stand.
The Vanderpump Rules cast is undergoing a major shakeup. From the firings of OG cast members Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute to new faces Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni, there’s been no shortage of drama surrounding the long running Bravo reality series. Most recently, Jax Taylor, 41, and Brittany Cartwright, 31, made the “difficult” announcement via Instagram that they were leaving the show — a shock revelation that nobody saw coming. In light of all these changes, we’ve rounded up your favorite VPR cast members. See who has been fired, who’s left the show, and who is still on board.
Stassi Schroeder

Longtime cast member Stassi Schroeder’s fall from grace has been highly publicized. She was booted from the show in June 2020 alongside Kristen after a 2018 racist incident involving her co-star, Faith Stowers, was brought to light. The pair called the cops on Faith after seeing a Daily Mail article about an African American woman who was robbing people. “[Stassi and Kristen] called the cops and said it was me,” Faith said during an Instagram Live chat with Floribama Shore cast member Candace Rice. “This is like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi during an interview.” The fallout was swift, and Bravo confirmed the firings to HollywoodLife on June 9.
Scheana Shay

Scheana Shay is one of the only OG cast members still involved with the show. The pregnant reality star, who first announced she was expecting a little bundle of joy in October 2020, has since revealed she will welcome a baby girl in early 2021 with boyfriend Brock Davies. Although season nine is yet to be given the green light, Scheana is on board. She also has other career ventures, including her weekly podcast Scheananigans with Scheana Shay.
Jax Taylor & Brittany Cartwright

Jax surprised both fans, and his cast mates when he revealed via Instagram that he and wife Brittany were leaving the show in December 2020. Jax starred on the show for eight seasons, while Brittany was on the show for five years. “The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” Jax wrote in a lengthy IG caption. “Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules.”
Katie Maloney & Tom Schwartz

Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney have spoken out in the wake of their friends’ departures from the show, saying they were very shocked, but looking forward to the possibility of a VPR season nine. Tom appeared on Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s podcast, Give Them Lala … with Randall after the high publicized cast firings in June. “I don’t think I’ve processed it. It doesn’t feel real,” he admitted. “Maybe I’m running from it a little bit or I’m in denial that it ever happened.” Regardless, Tom is still looking forward to the new direction that the show is taking.
Kristen Doute

Kristen’s demise was highly publicized following a racist incident in 2018 involving her former cast mate Faith Stowers in 2018. “Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder [and] Kristen Doute … will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules,” the network confirmed to HollywoodLife on June 9. Both Kristen and Stassi were full time cast members on VPR from its inception in 2013, however the pair were axed after it was revealed they called the cops on Faith for a crime she didn’t commit. “[Stassi and Kristen] called the cops and said it was me,” Faith said during an Instagram Live chat with Floribama Shore cast member Candace Rice.
Tom Sandoval

Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix are still on board for VPR season nine, and were actually doing a live interview with HollywoodLife when news of Jax and Brittany’s exit broke. “Literally, as I was about to click on your page I was like, ‘Oh, [Jax and Brittany are] going live,’ saw it, and that’s it. So we’re here. We don’t know. We have no inside. We’re out of the loop…but yeah, crazy,” Ariana told us, emphasizing that the pair found out at the same time as the fans did.
Max Boyens

Max came under fire in January when his past problematic tweets resurfaced. His previous tweet read, “It upsets me that the word n***a is not allowed to be said unless you are black because quite honestly it’s my favorite word.” When the old tweet went viral in January, he issued the following apology: “It is not a representation of who I am. I am shocked I ever tweeted that — and I am disgusted and embarrassed — I am truly sorry.” Nevertheless, he was axed from the show alongside Stassi, Kristen, and Brett.
Brett Caprioni

Brett appeared on the show for just one season before he was fired in June 2020. He issued an apology for using racial slurs in the past. “I am incredibly ashamed and accept full responsibility, and acknowledge that this language was as unacceptable then as it is now,” he said. “Please know that I have learned and grown since then and would never use this language today.”
