Prestige beauty retailer Sephora has appointed Xia Ding as the Managing Director of Greater China. Based in Shanghai, Ms Ding will report directly to Asia President, Alia Gogi. Prior to Sephora, she spent five years as Vice President & General Manager of e-commerce Asia Pacific and Latin America at Nike.
Xia Ding spent two decades at HanesBrands Inc., where she was involved in corporate strategy and led the group’s expansion into China. In 2015, she was appointed as Vice President of Retail Service at Nielsen in China, a global information and measurement company. Xia Ding subsequently joined JD.com as the President of JD Fashion where she was responsible for driving the fashion business covering apparel, shoes, sportswear, bags, and jewelry.

Sephora operates approximately 3,000 points of sale across 35 markets around the world. The retailer launched two “Stores of the Future” in Shanghai and Wuhan last year.

Sephora recently announced it would gradually terminate all its online and offline operations in South Korea, where it had five physical stores in Korea, in addition to its online operations.
