A key player in beauty packaging in Europe, Medicos was established in 2002 following the acquisition of RR Plastiques. The company stands out for its diverse offering, including jars, droppers, roll-ons, Surlyn caps for perfumes, caps for tubes and soft bottles. With a team of 150 employees and annual revenue of approximately 40 million euros, Medicos draws on its industrial expertise to support personal care and fragrance brands in their pursuit of innovation and sustainable, circular solutions.
Medicos currently sells around 3200 product references per year, 35 million droppers, 40 million perfume caps, 14 different jar formats with a wide range of customizations. Exports represent 25% of sales. The product offering is equally balanced between standard (40% of the annual turnover) and custom products (60%). Each year, Medicos creates around 300 new products, 5 new standard designs, and files an average of three patents.
For its president and founder, Cédric Marmonier: “Medicos is first and foremost a group of reactive SMEs, with an organization that prioritizes integration, and an advanced industrial strike force. But what has remained important, essential, and forward-looking for the entire team over the years is building a sustainable and responsible future by offering increasingly environmentally friendly packaging solutions.”
Industrial excellence
Medicos has strengthened its position in the packaging industry through a series of strategic acquisitions. In 2012, the group acquired Mino Gaillard, a French company later renamed Medicos Izernore. This was followed in 2017 by the acquisition of Janvier, a French plastics manufacturer specializing in injection-molded components for the perfume and cosmetics sectors. Most recently, in 2024, Medicos acquired Dinamic Emballages—now Medicos Rombach—which focuses on the production of single- and dual-material injection-molded parts. Following the sale of its healthcare division in 2018, Medicos has sharpened its focus on the beauty and food industries, capitalizing on its expertise in plastic injection molding and drawn glass.
Today, Medicos generates a turnover of 40 million euros, drawing on four areas of industrial expertise: plastic injection, drawn glass, decoration and automation. The group employs 155 people and operates four production sites: three in France and one in Milan, Italy, specializing in the production and processing of drawn glass.
The striking power of its state-of-the-art industrial tool is one of the group’s main assets.
“We have an extensive development program for our automated machines, which we carry out in-house. We are constantly on the lookout for the latest technological advances in machine equipment,” details Elodie Perrot, Site Manager at Medicos. “We incorporate the latest technological innovations in our processes.”
The group manufactures its own automated assembly machines for its droppers, roll-on ball carriers, and complex parts, as well as its automated lines for decoration.
“Among our recent investments, it is worth mentioning that our Medicos Chassal site has launched an expansion program of more than 800 sqm. for2025, in order to maintain our in-house development of special machines and to offer industrial production solutions that are as close as possible to our customers’ needs and dedicated applications,” adds the manager.
Innovation and circularity
This industrial tool serves as the foundation for the company’s offerings, all driven by a single obsession: innovation. A cross-functional steering committee currently oversees 25 projects, each guided by a strong commitment to eco-design.
“Our goal is to move towards 100% recyclable or reusable packaging, reduce the use of fossil materials, develop the use of bio-based materials, promote local sourcing,” states Medicos Izernore Site Manager, Denis Moiraud.
This means reducing weight and thickness, designing packaging using recycled, recyclable, refillable, and reusable materials, and assessing the overall footprint of products by taking into account the different stages of the life cycle.
Medicos also invests in research on new materials, aiming to match the quality of traditional plastics while exploring aesthetically innovative designs. “For many years now, we have been working closely with many raw material suppliers to test sustainable, recycled, and recyclable materials before they are introduced to the market. We work with them to guarantee reliable results at the industrial production level, while at the same time analyzing our customers’ needs to match supply with demand,” says Prune Thévenin, Sales Manager.
“To ensure the best possible traceability of our supplies, we offer ISCC Plus materials. We want our products to be easy to disassemble for easier recycling, and we offer mono-material products wherever possible, depending on the required packaging, to make sorting easier,” she adds.
Notable recent innovations include Melvita’s refillable jar (bases on Medicos Re-CliCK patent), Armani’s refillable foundation, and a roll-on dropper created for La Roche-Posay—offering both precise dosage and a comfortable application experience.
