At the MakeUp in Los Angeles show, which was held on February 12-13, 2025 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Albéa introduced a range of packaging solutions designed to meet the diverse needs of American skincare and makeup brands in terms of sustainability and design.
Albéa Tubes focuses on plastic use reduction
In alignment with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s recommendations, Albéa Tubes is committed to reducing its consumption of virgin plastic by 20% by 2030, compared to 2019 levels. As part of this initiative, the company has introduced a series of lightweight packaging solutions on the American market.
At the MakeUp LosAngeles trade show, Albéa Tubes showcased their Metamorphosis paper-based tube, paired with the Ecofusion top. Made of up to 50% of paper and produced at Albéa’s Queretaro plant in Mexico, this innovative tube addresses the growing demand for local sustainable packaging solutions.
In addition, the supplier’s range of low-profile caps has welcomed a newcomer, the Slight Cap, offering a 17% weight reduction compared to standard flip-top caps. This cap features a reduced height and a strong eco-friendly design, available in combination with extruded tubes.
At the show, the EcoTop family will also make its first appearance on the North American market. The wide range of solutions featuring the fusion of head and cap is available in various diameters and shapes, allowing brands to adapt the solution to their brand’s identity.
Enhanced responsible solutions from Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance
For the first time in the US, Albéa’s Cosmetics & Fragrance team will introduce Polaris, a mono-material PP and refillable jar with a fully new concept for maximum ease of use: the cap is attached to the base with an invisible hinge thus solving any cap issue and providing full access to the formula.
Polaris is refillable with the TWIRL system. This newcomer was designed to further drive the adoption of refillable solutions by providing customers with a simple and intuitive product that is part of the inclusive design approach.
Skincare and makeup packaging solutions for American beauty brands
In addition, Albéa showcased their North America Collection consisting in a product range featuring ten responsible skincare and makeup packaging solutions designed with recyclability and reusability in mind – from bottles and jars to compacts, sticks and mascara, that are ready to customize and manufactured locally.
