What Emma Stone’s First Days as Mom to Baby Girl Have Been Like

People got rare, detailed insight into Emma Stone’s first days as a new mother. TMZ reported last week that Stone gave birth to her daughter with husband Dave McCary on March 13 in the Los Angeles area.

Stone never verbally confirmed her pregnancy, but just a few weeks into parenthood, Stone is overjoyed with the experience, People reports. A source close to Stone told the outlet that “Emma and Dave have a great marriage and both wanted a child. They are a very grounded and private couple and were ready for a family.” That source added that the two both value their privacy: “Emma is close to her family and good friends but not the type to flaunt her personal life. Dave respects that about her and is the same way. They have a great life together and support each other.”

A separate insider said that Stone has been “very excited” about her daughter. “She has been private but said that she was feeling great. She always has a huge smile when she is with Dave.”

The source close to Stone suggests she’ll be as adept at parenthood as she is at acting. “She is a professional who loves and breathes her work,” the source said. “But if anyone can be good at both, it is Emma. She is a gifted person in every way.”

Stone, who’s 32, spoke to Jennifer Lawrence for ELLE in August 2018 about wanting to become a mother in her 30s.

“My perspective about kids has changed as I’ve gotten older,” she started. “I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids. And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.”

Stone compared her 20s to how she felt entering her 30s, explaining, “My twenties were a really interesting time, and there’s been a lot that has happened in these past 10 years, both positive and not as positive. It’s weird how much turning 30 crystallizes your life. Instead of just living the dreams that I had in my youth and getting to do the job that I love to do and making friends and going through all of that, it’s like, Now what do I actively want as an adult?”
