Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have settled into their new home in Montecito, though they appear to be keeping to themselves, like the rest of us are doing during this global pandemic. Meghan and Harry have left their royal life in the U.K. for Los Angeles, but that doesn’t mean they have also ditched the philanthropic side of royal life. They seem to be leaning into their charity work even more. They launched a new non-profit this year and named it Archewell, inspired by their son, Archie.
“Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global Covid-19 pandemic but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be,” they told The Telegraph this spring. “Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche’—the Greek word meaning ‘source of action.’ We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters.”
