Spring is in full swing: birds are singing, flowers are blooming, and seasonal allergies are making a comeback. In the fashion calendar, this is, of course, Met Gala time. It would seem that guests should turn to the usual spring motifs: floral prints, light shades, light fabrics. But the men on the red carpet of the Met Gala 2026 decided differently. Instead of the expected light outfits, they chose leather clothes: massive coats, sets with rivets, cropped jackets with leather lapels. With the Fashion Is Art dress code, one could expect more courage, and some really allowed themselves to go beyond the classic tuxedo. However, hardly anyone expected that leather would become such a prominent theme of the evening. There was really a lot of it at the Met Gala 2026.

Bill Skarsgard in Thom Browne, Patrick Schwarzenegger in Public School, Romeo Beckham in Burberry with leather lapels, Nicholas Hoult in an all-leather Prada look. And that's just a part of the list. It was an unexpected twist, but definitely not one that disappointed us. Below are some of our favorite leather looks of the night.
