If Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez makes a run for president in 2024, she’s already doing pretty well in the celebrity-endorsement department. On Friday, AOC shared an Instagram story about how she is getting braces and that, as a Congresswoman, this is her first time having health insurance. “… In other words, I got a bag and fixed my teeth,” she said, quoting Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow.” She played the song as she jammed out to it on her story.
Cardi B took note of AOC’s shout-out and gave her one of her own:
“She better run for president when she turns 35,” she wrote on Twitter on Friday.

The love just keeps going between these two. After AOC saw Cardi’s endorsement, she tweeted yet another brilliant reference to the artist’s music.
“Women Against Patriarchy (WAP) 2020,” she responded, in reference to Cardi’s and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” collaboration.

Does this mean we have hope for an AOC-Cardi campaign collab? Wouldn’t be mad at all if, in the future, America is a place where Cardi B provides the score to an AOC presidential campaign. Wow, thinking about that right now, in 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, just brings on the tears.
But let’s bring it back to AOC’s dental-health post really quick. She makes the point that fixing someone’s smile isn’t necessarily about their appearance. It’s about their health.
“Not having your bite lined up correctly can be painful and contribute to other health problems (which are also more expensive later on, not just for you but for our WHOLE SOCIETY. DENTAL HEALTHCARE IS HEALTHCARE,” she wrote on her story.
Everybody flash a smile, play some Cardi B, and give this woman the applause she deserves.
