Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas quietly welcomed their first child, a daughter, this past Wednesday, TMZ reported. And shortly after the outlet broke the news, they got intel on what the couple opted to name their baby: Willa.
Jonas and Turner never verbally confirmed or spoke about her pregnancy. They were photographed out during the later stages of her pregnancy though, which visually confirmed it.
News of Turner’s pregnancy first came out in February. One source told JustJared, which broke the news that she was expecting, “The couple is keeping things very hush hush but their friends and family are super excited for them.”
The two got married last summer. In ELLE’s April 2020 issue, Turner spoke about her marriage to Jonas and the one thing that changed. “I feel like the only thing that’s changed for me is having this incredible sense of security. Just the word husband and the word wife—it just solidifies the relationship,” she said. “I love being married. I think it’s wonderful. I’m sure we’ll have our hiccups and our different things. But right now, it’s like the security and the safety is everything.”
She spoke glowingly about Jonas, telling ELLE, “With Joe, I always felt like I was the one who was punching, like, way above my league. And I still feel like that,” she said. “He’s so handsome, talented, funny, charismatic. I’m really lucky to be with him and have someone like him want to be around me and spend time with me.”
