Taylor Swift may no longer host big Fourth of July parties or music video shoots with members of her “squad,” but for major occasions like the release of her eighth album folklore, her longtime celeb friends will publicly and ecstatically cheer her on. Yesterday, close pals Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and Blake Lively were among the many people online to post on their Instagram Stories about how much they love Swift and her latest musical work.
“She’s done it again @taylorswift,” Gomez wrote on her Instagram Story, a screenshot of Swift’s new song “cardigan.”
Hadid, meanwhile, highlighted Swift’s track “the last great american dynasty,” which fans believe is based on the true story of the heiress, Rebekah Harkness, who once owned Swift’s Watch Hill, Rhode Island beach house. Hadid seemed to confirm that theory, writing, “NOW PLAYING: FOLKLORE! T is the best storyteller. So happy she wrote a song for one of the stories I always ask to hear again.” You can read all about the true story Swift based the song on here.
Hadid also shared a screenshot of herself listening to Swift’s “invisible string,” a love song to Joe Alwyn, which also contains a shoutout to her and Hadid’s ex Joe Jonas, as well his pregnant wife Sophie Turner.
Lively, who allowed Swift to reveal her third daughter Betty’s name on folklore, had the longest and most enthusiastic shoutout to Swift and her album collaborators on her IG Story. “Thank you @taylorswift and @aarondessner @jackantonoff @boniver & #williambowery. Can we all please crawl inside that piano with you and live in this album…” Lively started.
“Like you, Folklore is full of heart, soul, humor, passion, intelligence, wit, whimsy, reality, imagination, strength, vulnerability, and above all things: LOVE,” she finished. “We <3 you!”
