Why Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin Broke Quarantine to Travel to Italy and Go Yachting

Some celebrities are taking the prohibition of non-essential travel during the coronavirus pandemic more seriously than others. Hailey Baldwin and Bella Hadid were among the few to take a private jet and travel abroad during this time. (The European Union is considering banning U.S. travelers because of the country’s rising COVID-19 cases but has not officially done so yet.) The two models were photographed in bikinis on a yacht off the coast of an island in Italy yesterday.

But before you mark off their behavior as frivolous and reckless, E! got intel from a source about the real reason the women left the U.S. It was just for work. The two are shooting a campaign together, and E! was told that everyone involved in the shoot was tested for COVID-19 and are taking necessary safety precautions. The two modeled swimsuits from Candice Swanepoel’s brand Tropic of C.

Once Baldwin and Hadid landed in Italy, “they wasted no time and headed straight to the water to board a yacht for the afternoon,” a source told the outlet. “They lathered up with sunscreen and were served lunch on the terrace. They both seemed relaxed and very happy to be there. They spent the day just hanging out and resting. They seemed a little tired from their flight and wanted to have some down time.”

Before uniting in Europe, Hadid and Baldwin were quarantining on opposite sides of the country. Baldwin was originally in Canada, then Los Angeles with her husband Justin Bieber. Hadid, meanwhile, was in Pennsylvania with her mother and sister Gigi Hadid.
