Watch Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Together at Home Performance

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were both performers during tonight’s big Together at Home concert, and they opted to sing together. The couple did a gorgeous cover of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.” The two sat together on the piano during the performance and focused on their singing.

Cabello and Mendes’ stage PDA made headlines before though. Back when they were performing “Señorita” during awards season, they would always tease a kiss but never go all the way in. Cabello spoke to Extra in December about why the two avoid kissing onstage.

“We didn’t give to them,” Cabello said. “I actually just get shy, weirdly. I feel like I would kiss him in the dress rehearsal, but then we are onstage and then something stops me.”

She added, “it’s really comforting and nice to have somebody onstage with you that loves you and has your back. It reminds you what’s really important, too, which is the love you have for each other and I don’t just mean that in a romantic way because I felt that way even when we were friends. It’s really nice, really special.”

Cabello and Mendes started dating last summer. They’ve performed multiple times on Instagram Live during the pandemic, including once for a performance sponsored by Global Citizen and the World Health Organization.

“We’re gonna sing a few songs today, because social distancing doesn’t have to be boring,” Cabello said at the start of that concert. “It doesn’t. This is a crazy time, and we’re all gonna come out of this together. We’re gonna pull through, and we’re gonna try to connect and make each other smile in the meantime, and so that’s what this is for. So we will go flat and sharp. And we will miss a couple harmonies.”
