Just days after Katy Perry announced she’s pregnant with her and her fiancé Orlando Bloom’s first child, E! got two sources to speak extensively about how Perry feels about becoming a mother. This pregnancy was very much wanted, the sources made clear. Perry considers Bloom to be her “soulmate,” one said, and she doesn’t mind that their baby will come before their wedding day.
“Her and Orlando have always wanted a baby,” the source said. “It was one of the first conversations they had since being engaged, and they both were always on the same page.”
Perry is ready now, the source added: “Katy is so excited and feels it’s finally the right time in her life. It didn’t matter to her if the baby came before the marriage or vice versa because she knew she had found her soulmate.”
A second source told E! that Perry has loved spending time with Bloom’s nine-year-old son from his previous marriage with Miranda Kerr, Flynn.
“Between Flynn, being an aunt and being around all of her friends’ babies, she has had a lot of experience, and now it’s her turn,” the second source said. “She will be a great mom and a natural.”
That source reiterated that Bloom and Perry both really wanted to have a child together. “Katy has wanted a baby for a long time. She and Orlando both have,” the source said. “They have so much fun with Flynn and being parents, they couldn’t wait to add to the family.”
Bloom’s ex-wife Kerr is supportive, the source added. “Katy has a great relationship with Miranda and they have always been supportive of one another. Miranda has always appreciated Katy’s love and care for Flynn.”
