Warner Brothers studio presented a trailer for the film “Named” starring Christian Bale in the role of Frankenstein. In Ukrainian distribution, the effective film directed by Maggie Gyllengall will be available in 2026.
The line “Named” is inspired by the painting “Named by Frankenstein” by James Whale, 1935, which is an adaptation of the story about Frankenstein’s monster. The events take place in the 1930s near Chicago. Doctor Euphronius turns the beaten woman to life, created as if she was named for a monster. More romantic feelings will arise between them, and they will quickly gain the respect of the police.

The role of Frankenstein's monster is played by Oscar-winning Christian Bale (“American Psycho”, “Vlad”), and his name is played by Jesse Buckley (“Fargo”, “The Unknown Don”). In the first shots, Bale is wearing Frankenstein makeup – almost unrecognizable and truly motor-like. “The Name” also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Beninta and Jake Gyllengall.
In the director's chair is actress and Golden Globe winner Maggie Gyllengall, who is behind the films “Dark Face” and “World Trade Center.” “Named” is another director’s work after the 2021 film “Unknown Donka”, which received three Oscar nominations. “Narechena” will be released in 2026.
