In order to fight the visible signs of aging, Mibelle Biochemistry launches an encapsulated bioactivating hexapeptide with a sequence based on the human skin type I collagen.
Named CollPerfect P6 [1], the new active ingredient stimulates collagen synthesis and encourages dermal remodelling, effectively rejuvenating the skin and improving its overall appearance.
“As we age, collagen production decreases, leading to visible signs of aging. Recent studies suggest that declining collagen levels might not just be a consequence of aging but a potential cause, highlighting collagen enhancement as a promising strategy for maintaining youthful skin,” explains the Swiss company in a press release.
CollPerfect P6 is a six amino acid peptide that contains the characteristic triplet sequence Gly-X-Y of the native human skin type I collagen and its most abundant amino acids: Gly-HyP-Lys-Gly-Pro-Lys.
“The use of a hexapeptide is a strategic choice as short peptides can penetrate the skin more easily than larger molecules and the presence of Lys improves its solubility,” adds Mibelle.
The biocompatible peptide is encapsulated into liposomes to ensure its stability and delivery to deeper skin layers and then spray granulated on maltodextrin to guarantee the long shelf life of CollPerfect P6.
CollPerfect P6 is formulated to address the common signs of aging by enhancing the skin’s natural elasticity and promoting collagen density.
A series of scientific research and clinical studies has backed the efficacy of the new active ingredient in delivering visible results.
In vitro, CollPerfect P6 has shown its ability to modulate the activity of genes crucial for healthy skin functioning, to increase hyaluronic acid and procollagen I release, and to support the dermal matrix support despite aging.
In vivo, CollPerfect P6 has shown its efficacy in remodelling the face, improve skin smoothness and skin elasticity, in tightening the facial contour and recovering firmness, and fortifying dermal collagen fibres.
CollPerfect P6 comes in a water-soluble powder form, without alcohol and preservatives.
