Selena Gomez released her new album, Rare, on Friday, and continued the exciting weekend with a red carpet appearance yesterday morning at the premiere of her new movie, Dolittle. She kept the party going last night at dinner with friends at West Hollywood restaurant Craig’s, per the Daily Mail. As seen on her her Instagram story, Gomez was celebrating her album release at the restaurant; her group enjoyed a purple sparkly cake with the word “Rare” decorating it in pink icing. The word “rare” also appeared on the cake in letters sticking up from the cake.
Gomez, who wore a long brown coat, casual light denim pants, and carried a white toaster containing toast (?) as she exited the celebrity hotspot Saturday night, was not the only A-lister at the establishment. Apparently, Hailey Bieber, wife of Gomez’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, was also at Craig’s.
Celebrity stylist Maeve Reilly posted a video on her story of Bieber sitting at a dinner table with producer and director Michael D. Ratner; she tagged the location as Craig’s. “We love you @ratty and @haileybieber, she wrote as the caption on the video.
There have not been any reports that Bieber and Gomez interacted at all at the restaurant. The time stamps on both of these Instagram stories just indicate that they might have been at the restaurant at the same time, or at least overlapped.
This might arch the eyebrows of Hailey and Selena fans. After Selena’s song “Lose You to Love Me” (a song clearly about Justin Bieber) released last fall, there have been some pretty eye-roll inducing rumors about the two feeling tension toward each other. By subtly liking Gomez’s social media posts, Bieber seemed to indicate that those rumors were just another attempt from society to pit two women against each other. There isn’t any bad blood at all.
“Hailey wasn’t mad about ‘Lose You To Love Me’ at all. Hailey thinks Selena is talented,” a source told Us Weekly in November 2019. “By liking photos of Selena, whether it be a glam shot or ones that her friends post on Instagram, Hailey wants to show that there are no hard feelings. It’s her way of trying to make peace and show her support for Selena in a low-key way, yet public way.”
