A controversial book, “The Monogamy Gap: Men, Love, and the Nature of Infidelity,” has been published in the United States. Its author, sociology professor Eric Anderson, argues that men cheat not because they've fallen out of love with their wives, but rather because they love them.
The professor reached this conclusion based on a survey of 120 men who admitted to cheating on their wives. Most of them sought affairs out of boredom with their family life, while still maintaining warm feelings for their wives. For them, their mistresses were nothing more than partners for a quickie.
According to Eric Anderson, monogamy is one of the biggest problems facing modern families. Temperamental men are forced to cheat on their beloved wives to maintain peace in the family.
