For the cover of the March 10, 2025, issue, Christoph Niemann sketched the view of New York Harbor from inside his former Brooklyn apartment. He wanted to capture the scene of a quiet early morning he enjoyed there, staring out the window while his family was still sleeping. “This particular drawing came to mind on a morning that had especially beautiful light, after I had coffee and ate some clementines,” Niemann said. “With the crisper light and barren trees, landscapes in winter are more linear and therefore well suited for drawing.”
