New York Fashion Week began with a bright Marc Jacobs show, later reminded what true American style is, with an exquisite Ralph Lauren show, and captivated the attention of industry insiders with Rachel Scott's debut at Proenza Schouler. We saw no less diversity of moods on the streets of the city. The guests of the shows seemed to be divided into two camps: urban restrained chic versus an explosion of colors and textures. However, there was a unifying element – this time it was colored leather. We saw it both as part of complex multi-layered looks and as the main star of minimalist ensembles, which Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy would definitely appreciate – a woman who became the personification of New York chic in the eyes of the whole world. We consider the looks from New York Fashion Week in detail.
