This year's Coachella festival proved once again that the real show doesn't just happen on stage, it happens off it too – and this time it has a clear name. While Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G are gathering crowds, the guests are drawing even more attention and bringing back a trend that many have already written off. Boho is back, but now in a new, much more sophisticated version: without clichéd floral patterns, instead with thoughtful silhouettes and accent details. And best of all, everyone from Lisa to Ani Taylor-Joy and Teyana Taylor are already wearing it, proving that the 2010s aesthetic is back – and this time with a more expensive, modern and much more desirable character.

So, Lisa appeared at the festival in a white minidress with macrame, a voluminous leather jacket and cowboy boots. This is not literal boho, but its more restrained, even slightly edgy version. Anya Taylor-Joy also chose a similar approach – a lace-up top, tight leather pants and a bright Gucci bag. The looks balanced between boho and modern minimalism, while maintaining the purity and clarity of the silhouette.

It is these stylistic decisions that define the return of boho style in the 2020s: after the era of “quiet luxury”, it is logical that festival fashion becomes more expressive, but at the same time thoughtful. Moreover, brands like Chloé, Staud and Zimmermann are actively rethinking boho, making it relevant and modern.

Meanwhile, some stars, like Teyana Taylor and Kehlani, took a more maximalist approach. Taylor appeared in a silver mesh dress with fringe, completing the look with an avant-garde mask from Schiaparelli – a futuristic interpretation of classic boho. Singer Chappelle Roan went even further, choosing a Renaissance-style look – with a dress with voluminous sleeves and an embroidered vest.

Coachella style hasn't changed dramatically, but this year it's noticeably more polished and thoughtful. It's not so much about flashy looks for Instagram and the desire to “look right,” but about expressing your personal style through distinctive, sometimes unexpected pieces.
